I get asked alot "How can you be an athiest wiccan, don't they collide?"

I thought I'd write a small blog about what I believe and how is completely possible.

First, a little history. I was raised in a Christian household. My parents never went to church, but they always made sure that I went. I did the whole sunday school thing, and even went on wednesday nights. I made some of my best friends there. As I grew older, i began to question alot of things. As some of us know, Christian pastors are notorious for saying "because that's what the Bible tells us". I wouldn't accept those answers. I wanted more.

After moving out of the house, growing up a bit. I met a few people that were atheist. I began to get alot of the answers that I had sought my whole life. Up until that point, I didn't even realize that atheism was even an option. I have a very scientific mind and things started to make sense to me.

Still, the older I got the more answers I needed. I had always had a "green thumb", been very connected to animals, been able to talk with spirits, meditated and felt the energy of others around me.

I found a book called "the Science of Witchcraft".  It basically was explaining witchcraft magic in quanitium physics. This really peaked my interest, and I started reading more about wiccan, peganism and witchcraft. I felt like I had found home. It was answering every question I tended to have.

I still consider myself atheist. Because I do not believe in an all powerful god in the sky. But I do believe in the energy that all living things have. I do believe and know that we can control that energy with just thought and will power. I know that all life is connected. I know that the air, fire, water and earth all have their own powers within each. I know that all herbs and stones carry their own energy signatures.  I do not worship a lady and a lord, or a god and a goddess. Instead I call upon the powers of the moon and the sun for my magick. They are the god/goddess in my eye.
